Radiation Shield
This large radiation shield started life as a 30''
cube of aluminum the hog-out was then plated with .0005 electroless nickel
followed by laser gold. Because the shield did not require the ultimate
in low emissivity, no polishing was required. The finish shown still will
exhibit an emissivity of less than .04 due to the unique properties of
this coating.
